MARS FOOD STORE

The issue of the skate boarders on the back side area of
MARS was brought up at the January 2008 Police
Community Relations Council meeting.  Officer Kreuger
was informed of how dangerous it is when the kids skate
at night.  He said he has talked with the manager of Mars
and the property is posted "No Skateboarding."
It was stated that they are still there, and the question
asked... what can we do as local residents  when we see
them.  He said to
call the non-emergency number
410-887-2222 and ask that a car be sent to the area
.
The kids know they are not supposed to be there.  So,
call that number.  And tell the officer who answers that
the outreach officer at the Franklin precinct instructed
you to call when you see skate boarders.  This is a
dangerous area as cars coming thru back entrance into
the shopping center usually do not see the skate
boarder until one rounds back corner of MARS.  At night
it is worse.  This issue is a safety concern for both the
skate boarders and the drivers of vehicles passing thru
the area.
For those that drive this route regularly you are
encouraged to program this number into your cell phone
so it is readily available.  If you pass that corner and see
skate boarders "doing their thing" in that area continue
driving past them to somewhere in the front of the
shopping center and call the non-emergency number.
Eventually this matter should clear up if everyone keeps
reporting them.
Bushes or Trees
that interfere with
the sidewalk

Do you have overgrown bushes or
trees that interfere with people
walking on the sidewalk?
If so you need to attend to them and
cut them back as soon as possible.
The County Code says that all
bushes must be cut back to at least
even with the edge of the sidewalk so
that people can walk on the sidewalk
without interference.  This is not only
an issue with adults that walk around
the neighborhood but also the many
kids that ride bikes, etc and have to
go off the sidewalk into the curb or
street to get around them.

Towson, Md. (April 29, 2008) - Pet owners who do not have a license for their cats and dogs could soon receive a
$100 violation when Baltimore County Council Bill #80-07 becomes law on May 1, 2008. An added charge will be
assessed for each day that owners do not have licenses for their pets. Baltimore County law requires that all cats
and dogs four months of age and older must be licensed each year. Notices will be sent to current pet license
holders, so that they can renew their licenses by mail. Pet owners must provide proof of their pet’s up-todate
rabies vaccination and spay/neuter status.

For online information see the Baltimore County website at
Pet Licensing

For more information or to obtain a license application, call the Permits and Licenses Office at 410-887-3630. For
information about Baltimore County Animal Laws and the Animal Shelter, call the Animal Control Division at 410-
887-5961.

Note:  The Baltimore County Public Library - Reisterstown branch will process and give licenses and
tags accordingly.
PROBLEMS WITH NOISE, ETC

"The County Council intends to prohibit excessive domestic noise for the purpose of securing and
promoting public health, comfort, convenience, safety, welfare, peace, and quiet in the county".
This is how it is defined by the Baltimore County website.
Everyone has a gathering now and then for various reasons and might accidentally "cross the line"
with loud noise so please give a little understanding and consideration.
BUT - It is the
repeat offenders that are of concern.
If you are having
repeated NOISE issues with others in CCE report it here.

NEWS RELEASE:  CCECA has been informed that the Baltimore County Police will soon be conducting traffic
checks in the Country Club Estates area.  These checks will consist of 2 primary issues.

1.  The law states that parked cars must be at least 15' from a fire hydrant when parked in the street.  In a
recent random check there have been many violations of this law in our area.  Police will start to ticket those
who continue to violate this law in the near future.
2.  The law states that parked cars in the street must be facing the same direction as the traffic flow on that
side of the street.  Specifically... the right side tires of your car are to be closest to the curb and within 12' from
the curb or less.  Police will start to ticket those who park in the wrong direction and continue to violate this law
in the near future.

Two other items you should be aware of...

3.
According to county law, vehicles can not be parked across the sidewalk.  Although the sidewalk is part
of the driveway it is considered similar to a right of way and those that use the sidewalk have the right to do so
without obstruction.

4.  Commercial trucks are not permitted to be parked on residential streets.

Many residents have requested that we have Balt. Co. Code Enforcement do a "sweep" of the community.
There are many code enforcement rules that are not being met by home owners.  The sweep will be in October, 2008.

Here are some of the violations the inspectors will be looking for:

1.  Untagged vehicles or vehicles with expired tags in driveways.
2.  Unkept property  ie. tall grass, junk on property,  overgrown bushes, .
3.  Trees and bushes that extend over the sidewalk.

Again, these are just a few of the usual items that inspectors will be looking for.
