NEWS RELEASE: CCECA has been informed that the Baltimore County Police will soon be conducting traffic checks in the Country Club Estates area. These checks will consist of 2 primary issues. 1. The law states that parked cars must be at least 15' from a fire hydrant when parked in the street. In a recent random check there have been many violations of this law in our area. Police will start to ticket those who continue to violate this law in the near future. 2. The law states that parked cars in the street must be facing the same direction as the traffic flow on that side of the street. Specifically... the right side tires of your car are to be closest to the curb and within 12' from the curb or less. Police will start to ticket those who park in the wrong direction and continue to violate this law in the near future. Two other items you should be aware of... 3. According to county law, vehicles can not be parked across the sidewalk. Although the sidewalk is part of the driveway it is considered similar to a right of way and those that use the sidewalk have the right to do so without obstruction. 4. Commercial trucks are not permitted to be parked on residential streets. |
